Around 5 years ago, we realised that we could improve the way we did our equipment and buildings inspections by embracing the evolving technologies at the time. We engaged with Fidelity CRM Ltd on a project to develop a system that made things easier, provided a consistent approach and was scalable across multiple sites. We have partnered with them on the then called ‘IMS’ product ever since. When Real Time Leisure got involved in early 2011, bringing together many other Councils, Trusts, leisure experts and development teams we benefited further as a Council and a service provider from the product evolving even more. We now use it to measure and manage customer experience, facility cleanliness, health and safety, plant, pool water, staff performance and site performance across 10 leisure centres, a museum, 2 libraries and 1 country park. In due course the system will be rolled out across all our cultural facilities. The main saving (among others) has come from reduction in successful insurance claims. Previously, the time hunting out records and the debatable accuracy of those written records, proved a hindrance to contesting claims. We now have a clinical degree of accuracy, accountability and instant reactivity to the issue raised which has proved to be invaluable.
